The Mayor of Milton Keynes is chosen each year at the Annual Council Meeting (usually in May). During his or her year in office the Mayor is the First Citizen of Milton Keynes and as such is an ambassador for the town and for the Council.

Comprehensive Performance Assessment
The First round of Comprehensive Performance Assessments were carried out in County Councils, Unitary Councils and Borough Councils between the Spring and Autumn of 2002. The Comprehensive Performance Assessment gathers existing assessments together, inspects areas to fill gaps. On 18 December 2003 Milton Keynes was re-assessed from "Weak" to Fair" and in the latest Audit Commission Report, published 16th December 2004, we have further consolidated this position. moremore...
