West Dunbartonshire chooses Portal Constructor |

When West Dunbarton Council wanted to makeover their website they chose Portal Constructor.
An analysis of the previous website showed that having centralised method of content production and management had restricted the amount and scope of the material published.
Using Portal Constructor enables them to quickly and easily devolve connect acquisition and management to the people who actually understood and are responsible for the wide range of content the council wanted to publish.
Another important factor in choosing to use Portal Constructor was its ease of use. A system that allowed anybody with only the most basic IT skills to generate, edit and manage content was considered essential. This was demonstrated in practice when a dozen people, having attended a short workshop style training session, were able to start contributing material the same day.
West Dunbartonshire Council have big plans for their new site including the geographic mapping of information utilising the software's integrated mapping system.
