 A recent user of Portal Constructor is the Bellsmyre community project based in Scotland about 20 miles from Glasgow.
The project was set up to bring the benefits of digital technology to the local community and included the provision of computers, complete with an Internet connection, to more than a thousand residents. The core of the project was a community website that was set up, from the outset, to involve all sections of the community and to encourage everyone to contribute.
Portal Constructor�s ease of adding, editing and managing content means that just about anybody from the community to prepare interesting and relevant content and publish it on the website with no programming or advanced IT skills.
The site accepted its first contributions just a few days after the decision was made to use Portal Constructor as everything was ready to run �out of the box�.
