Portal Constructor helps the push for broadband |

When the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) wanted a fast way of producing a complex web site for their new, very innovative broadband brokerage iniative they turned to Portal Constructor.
The purpose of the new site is to stimulate demand for broadband services in the East of England region. To meet this objective the new site has offer four functions:-
1. Deliver a wide range of up to date information on the subject in an easy to digest way.
2. Encourage people to register their interest and maintain underlying databases of this information. To make this process as easy as possible the site offered a postcode look up and auto form fill function.
3. Present the geographic position of these registrants along with other key data such as service areas onto three different user selectable underlying maps.
4. Provide a forum to enable the public to air their questions and views on broadband in the region.
Although only recently launched the site is generating a large number of registrations right across the region.
The broadband information is provided by a number of contributors who are able to update the text, images, navigation and links as and when required without any programming skills, the very essence of the Portal Constructor method. This ability to update the content so easily on line has been key to keeping the site updated and full of current and relevant information.
Portal Constructor�s interactive mapping system was used to enable the rapid production of the mapping section.
