Meeting the 2005 deadline |

All local governments are facing the e-government challenge of achieving 100% of electronic service delivery by 2005. Defining all the transactions between local government and the citizen that can be delivered electronically is a task too extensive for this document. However one of the most fundamental transactions is providing information to and from all areas of the community.
Effective information exchange is one of the key milestones for local governments in meeting the e-government agenda. As demonstrated with MKWeb Portal Constructor provides a revolutionary way to handle information by allowing content to be created directly from the information owners. This information flow also provides a means of consultation and access to community, professional and business networks.
Open Site
The first requirement is an open site with accurate, relevant and up to date content. Portal Constructor's methodology and software will enable such a site to be produced efficiently and quickly.
Public Contribution
Another element of the e-government agenda is the ability to allow the public to 'have their say'. This is enabled through the forum(s) and the ability to contribute content to a Weblet.
Access to Information
The searches, access to libraries of documents, and articles all give the user the widest possible selection of information to choose from.
Payments for Services
Portal Constructor recognise the need for on-line payment of local government services. Forthcoming releases will meet these requirements.
